Autor: Anderson, Pamela J., Rodgers, Oliver E.

Abstrakt: The article discusses elements of sounds and hearing that make it challenging for violin makers to discover and adjust the tone quality of new violins. Musical sounds are caused by the vibrations of all possible elements of a voice box or a musical instrument. Based from the experience of the authors, the two important factors in improving sound quality are excellence of craftsmanship and familiarity with the patterns and the detailed dimensions of selected, well-regarded instruments.
