The article provides information on optometers. A description of how the finding from a series of experiments at the University of Illinois in 1950s has led to the objective measurement of the focal distance of the eyes under various viewing conditions while observers are performing tasks is presented. Information on several optometers is provided, including infrared tracking optometer and laser optometer, citing the use, advantages and disadvantages of each. |
