Abstrakt: If David Mamet's characters often use stories to rationalize their actions or make sense of their lives, Bobby Gould begins to question stories and search for the truth so that he might conform his action to it. In this sense, Gould becomes an example of Benjamin's "righteous man." Mamet's concern with ethical behavior, however, carries over to True and False, in which he commits his own ethical breach in framing acting as a moral endeavor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
