The article reveals that Specialist Ross McGinnis could become the third U.S. service-member to be awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in Operation Iraqi Freedom. McGinnis, a private first class at the time of his death in Baghdad, has already been awarded a Silver Star for the deed that cost him his life, and was posthumously promoted to the rank of specialist. McGinnis and his team were on a mission in the Iraqi capital's Adhamiyah section when an insurgent tossed a grenade from a nearby rooftop. |
