Abstrakt: This article explores the experiences of Latina immigrant women to the Washington DC metropolitan area. Like many other immigrant women in the world, Latinas in this area are linked simultaneously to different cultural settings, and move constantly between different worlds, both physically and mentally, as they participate in two socio-economic structures at the same time, that are increasingly linked by the emerging global relations of capital. From their voices, the paper addresses the process of the women's identity building, as it is shaped by constant negotiation with the different societies to which they belong. This identity is constructed in the intersection of gender, ethnicity and class in the women's country of origin and residence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
