This essay focuses on the narrative "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," which are restorative accounts of Gawain's reintegration into the court at Camelot in traditional readings. Closure and reintegration are suggested by the circularity of the poem. Masculine identification and linguistic signification are inseparable. The psychoanalytic approach in addressing the poem's failure of integration is explained. |
