The article reports on an exploratory investigation to measure the multidimensional religious and spiritual views of a sample of homeless people. The low reliability score when the multidimensional Fetzer scale was used, precluded attaining this goal and indicates that measures that function well with the general public may not be applicable for homeless populations. However, at the unidimensional level, the findings showed that spirituality and religiosity were dominant in the lives of the study participants. Belief in God or the transpersonal was found to buffer the negative effects of homelessness. |
