| Abstrakt: | In this article, the author discusses the emergence of an early music movement in China. The author states that this movement is connected by historical performance which has become the dominant musical ideology. He observes that the lack of historical consciousness on the part of musical performers is problematic. In addition, the author addresses the sporadic attempts to bridge the gap between theory and practice in scholarly research on Chinese music. |
