Impact of Katrina Evacuees Upon Law Enforcement.

Abstrakt: The article presents a study about the impact of Hurricane Katrina evacuees on the law enforcement in Texas. The state of Texas received about 200,000 evacuees due to Katrina, noted as the largest population displacement event in U.S. history. Texas agencies were sent a survey to identify the demand for police service affected by the evacuees. Results of the survey, including charts showing law enforcement-related problems from evacuees, are discussed.
