Abstrakt: The article presents a study that applied a modified method of limits to examine differential effects of anchors on absolute judgments by normals and acute and chronic schizophrenics. The results of this study revealed that there were greatest anchor influences among acute schizophrenics, relative to a reduction in conceptual constancies. However, there were greatest disruptions in judgments among chronic schizophrenics, which may be caused by a temporary conceptual lapse. It was also discovered that normals attained size constancy. The author asserted that these findings on the two types of judgment error showed represented forms that differed in cognitive dysfunction.
