Abstrakt: The article offers information on the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996, a legislation used to protect the importation of undesirable plant species in New Zealand. It aims to guard the environment and the safety of community by controlling the harmful effects of new organisms. HSNO offers standards to those individuals who planned to pursue the importation of new species in the country.
