The article presents an encyclopedia entry for philosopher Simon Blackburn. His family and educational background are discussed. In his first book entitled "Reason and Prediction," he attempted to solve the problem of inductive skepticism by invoking some basic a priori principles. He developed two doctrines including projectivism and quasi-realism which provided a general approach to dealing with a number of empirically suspect areas of human thought. |
