The author reflects on the laws of fishing and hunting in Texas. He related the case of the man who was sent to jail for killing a goldfish. The man was convicted on the ground of aggravating animal. He sided with the man contending that the judge who tried the case did not have common sense in determining the difference between a goldfish and a companion animal. He is amazed whether the judges have enough life experience in understanding that a person's freedom is relevant than a goldfish. |
