The article presents the eight strategies employed by school principals to encourage and support based coaches in the U.S. The first strategy is to build and monitor an action plan by the joint efforts of the principal and the coach. The next strategy is to negotiate the relationship of the school-based coaches with principals. Another is the accessibility of the principals. The other strategies include access in the work of the school-based coaches with other teachers; maintain to concentrate on instructional leadership; principals' help for coaches to avoid overload; protection of the coach's relationship with peers; and to provide the coaches with leadership development opportunities. |
