Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the origins and the growth of mass media in China, an evolution that ultimately failed. China was in the forefront of development of mass communication 1300 years ago, with the help of a written language and means of preserving and transporting it. However, the modern day government in China adheres to the traditional Marxist view of the role of the press. There had been instances of gagging the press. It opposes open or competitive media. |
