Abstrakt: The article focuses on the militarization of Hawaii. Hawaii has the doubtful distinction of being tagged as the most militarized state in the United States because it is the only state that has no weapon-producing industries and one sign of being a militarized society is the presence of arms, arms industries, troops, and installations. Evident facts such as the Hickam Air Force Base sharing runways with the Honolulu International Airport, interstate freeways connecting to the base of the military, and military vehicles running on roads are among the signs that Hawaii is indeed a militarized state. The author argues that the militarization of a society has a contested process of composing a specific type of order.
