The author reflects on the conceptions of power in sociology and other social sciences. He argued that most ideas of power are based on a cognitive model of power in which one or more of the actors are aware of the prominence of power and are using a power dimension as a basis for their choices and actions. The author further commented that at the non-cognitive level, the external social reality can have a direct impact on social choice. |
