The article focuses on radio frequency identification (RFID), which is revolutionizing the tracking of inventory within the supply chain industry. RFID is an advanced wireless technology and it is a smart object implementation for item or object tagging. Supply chain processes as well as customer service improvements are enhanced with the use of RFID wireless technology. The enhancements that will be provided by RFID to the supply chain are enumerated, including automation and shrinkage. |
