The article reports on the use of the Gesell Developmental Scales in the evaluation of the development in children with Down's syndrome. The specific developmental landmarks in motor, language, and personal-social behavior are compared with those of a normal infant population. The general belief that children with Down's Syndrome lag in all areas of progress is not always true of their gains during the first six months of life. |
