Abstrakt: The article discusses research on the use of standard reaction engineering principles to design a fuel processor system that uses methane to generate hydrogen for automotive applications. Fuel cell power systems have the potential for high fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The reactors composing the system are the reformer, the water-gas shift reactor and the preferential oxidation reactor. It is imperative to compute the response of the reactor train to sudden changes in methane flow rate.
