The article relates the experience of the author in helping his elderly father adjust to living in a residential facility for older persons. His father who is 84 years old was diagnosed in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. His symptoms include memory loss and difficulty in finding his way around. Although his father acknowledged that he could not live at his former apartment and living with his sons can present problems, he was not eager to live in a nursing home. The author and his brother brought their father at Lakeview and luckily, he learned to adjust to his new home. |
