Chapter 17 of the book "The Social Work Student's Research Handbook," by Dominique Moyse Steinberg is presented. According to the chapter, qualitative data refers to material collected in the form of written words while qualitative data analysis, usually associated with exploratory studies, consists of content analysis such as analyzing the written word, sometimes called narratives. Descriptive statistics summarize a researcher's data in visual nutshells through tables, charts and graph. Qualitative data analysis involves large-scale descriptive or experimental or correlational studies. |
