An overview of the measurement of cognitive ability in employee selection is provided. Research on the role of personality in employee selection is reviewed. The influence of emotions on human behavior and personnel management is addressed. Situational judgment tests are evaluated for use in the employee selection process. Research on the use of assessment centers in the hiring process is presented.
