The article discusses the value of working as camp counselors and directors. A survey found that camps implement recommendations from the "National Standards for Beginning Physical Education Teachers" and "Guidelines for Teacher Preparation in Physical Education." Topics include content knowledge, diverse learners, planning and instruction, and learner assessment. Organizations that set standards in physical education or teacher certification include the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE). |
