Abstrakt: | The article discusses the role of Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation in human health and neonatal development. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in leafy green vegetables, vegetable oils and fish. These acids are capable of reducing serum cholesterol levels. Consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids leads to the elasticity of cell membranes of the human eye, brain and sperm cells. Infants who are breastfed may do better in terms of cognitive and behavioral development because of the presence of fatty acids in human milk. |
