The article features the influence of media literacy and popular culture on adolescents, and the transfer of higher order thinking abilities in education. Adolescent literacy acknowledges the multiple literacies students encounter both in and outside of the classroom including the Internet, music, television, magazines, e-mail messages, trade books, and advertisements.
