The article relates how hybridizer Jerry Dickerson started with daylily hybridizing. According to Dickerson, he started growing daylilies when he decided to the country in Virginia in 1979. In his first year, he bred Greenbaum seedlings with Hemerocallis Kindly Light. The first hybrid registered by Dickerson under his name is the Patsy Bickers, described as a true spider with a ratio of 5.1/1, and had a dusty pink brown with a darker eyezone form. In 2004, Dickerson has registered 136 cultivars. |
