The article reports that American college students spend most of their time working rather than studying full-time and attending a four-year institution. Based on the reports of the American Council on Education, nearly 80 percent of undergraduates are working while attending college. The study added that students spend 30 hours per week at their jobs. According to Jacqueline King, author of "Working Their Way Though College: Student Employment and Its Impact on the College Experience," working students can be found anywhere in the country. Also, the study found that 23 percent of full-time students work 35 or more hours every week. |
