Abstrakt: The article reports on the campaigns and implement policies launched by the federal government to enhance and promote foreign languages in the U.S. These campaigns and policies aim to increase and improve the language capabilities of students in the country. The Abraham Lincoln Commission has encouraged the Congress and the administration of President George W. Bush to provide 125 million dollars for scholarships of students who want to study abroad. In addition, the president has also launched the "National Security Language Initiative," a new policy for enhancing international language education in the country.
