This article examines the contrast between urban and rural places in Horton Foote's 1953 three-act play "The Trip to Bountiful." It considers the nature of nature in the play as a fundamental theme. This includes both the nature of the main characters in terms of experience, personality, and potential and the world of nature to which character Carrie Watts longs to return. |
