| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on a study of the contexts of language acquisition including the influence of the work place, the norms of language employed in telephone and face-to-face communication, and the importance of language in the selection of friends. Results support the view that the strength of a group is inversely related to its multilingual behavior. |
