Abstrakt: The article talks about the challenges in teaching state studies in the U.S. School teachers face many issues such as limited time and resources as well as the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Teaching state history has long been part of the curriculum and has been taught in the fourth grade. Teachers are pressured since they have to spend time helping students do well in math and reading to meet standardized tests.
