The article presents the views of the author on character education. The author of the article has multiple identities such as she is known as a teacher educator, a former Social Studies teacher, a parent, and a lesbian. According to her, the character education program in schools becomes beneficial only, when it teaches students to respect and value each and every human being. Being a lesbian parent of a daughter, the author suggests that enough space must be created by a character education program so that it welcomes and embraces people like her, children like her daughter, and other children belonging to non-traditional families. |
