The article discusses the issue of quality of instruction in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) at the preprofessional service level by emphasizing use of critical thinking strategies in AAC coursework and clinic. A concept that uses guided self study of the basics of AAC to prepare students for problem based learning opportunities is discussed. A CD-ROM format for case based teaching in AAC is presented. |
