The article presents information on various issues related to quality assurance in distribution and trade discussed by the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations at a meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland from October 25 to 29, 2004. In the meeting the Committee was informed of a number of incidents, involving diethylene glycol, resulting in a World Health Assembly resolution which had triggered the preparation of the good trade and distribution practices. |
