The article presents a guide on how cooperative extension professionals can obtain consent from institutional review board (IRB) to participate in a study. It lists the elements of what the IRB look for. The elements that should be mentioned in the informed consent document are enumerated. It explains the difference between active and passive consent. The conditions where Extension professionals may apply for a waiver or consent are stated. |
