Abstrakt: The article studies the oval shaped red blood cells of mentally normal people, organics and mongoloids in the U.S. Etiology and sex are considered contributing factors to the increase in the number of oval cells. Female mongoloids have higher number of oval cells compared with male mongoloids. The researchers want to establish objective and reliable criteria for distinguishing oval from circular cells and for grading the degree of ovalocytosis easily and efficiently.
