The article focuses on geotextiles and its various applications. Geotextiles together with geogrid and sealing substrates form the group of products called geosynthetics. As a filter, geotextile enables liquid to pass to its own plane while preventing most of the soil particles. Therefore a suitable geotextile must have a high guarantee for water permeability over a long period. Majority of geotextiles are light, strong but cheap as they are mainly fabricated from polyolefins. The other largest group of geosynthetics are geomembranes. These are commonly used for linings and covers of liquid or solid-storage faciltiies. Kevlar is an example of synthetic/composite materials for geotextiles which combines high strength with light weight, and comfort with protection, whether it is the working in a plant, or in handling sharp edge materials. |
