Abstrakt: | The article presents the author's suggestions for maintaining performance quality in a marathon while reducing total running mileage. A runner can maintain his performance in marathons by keeping a high level of intensity. The runner should also maintain a cross-training regimen and his body weight. The author's three-run-per-week training was high in intensity and low in volume. This type of training maintains the freshness of the runner, decreases the probability of overuse injuries and provides sufficient recovery for faster training runs. |
