Abstrakt: The article presents the chapter 9 of the book "Bricks Without Straw: A Comprehensive History of African Americans in Texas," which focuses on the civil rights march in Austin, Texas on August 28, 1963. The objective of the Democratic Coalition is to bring maximum voter participation in the November 9 election to repeal the poll tax. A speech by Democratic Governor John Connally attacked a proposed federal civil rights bill on July 19. There is a cooperation between African and Hispanic Americans during the march.
