Abstrakt: The article provides information on James Nowlan, a private rifleman who served the Texan Army during the 1836 revolution. Nowlan was born in England and was 27 years old when he enlisted in the army. He was a member of Captain Cooke's company of New Orleans Greys who came to Texas. He was severely wounded during the siege and battle of Bexar. Because of this, it is unlikely that he was able to participate defending the Alamo.
