The article presents information on people who have influenced and continue to influence the geosynthetic arena. Tony Alen of Washington State Department of Transportation is performing excellent work with Richard Bathurst on geosynthetic reinforced walls. Richard J. Bathurst is one of the most recent Mercer Lecture awardees and an expert in geosynthetic reinforced earth structures, seismic design, micromechanics of granular materials, and geosynthetic durability. Ron Froebel has conducted major work on liner properties and continues to advance understanding of liner performance and design in vital sectors such as mining remediation. |
