Abstrakt: This article focuses on the popularity of classic novels. The field of children's literature thrived during the twentieth century. Generally, children are first led to books demonstrating these attributes by a caring parent, concerned teacher, or knowledgeable librarian. Then, halfway through the nineteenth century, American scenes and American characters appeared fully developed in children's books, with Louisa May Alcott's Little Women (1869).
