This article provides information on Antrodiaetus, a spider species which was discovered under a rock in eastern British Columbia valley southeast of Trail. Known as folding-door tarantulas, Antrodiaetus spiders are about the size of a quarter. British Columbia has at least five tarantula-like spiders. Most, including Antrodiaetus pugnax, spend their time in burrows excavated in soft soil or rotten wood. The province's tarantula species are not venomous to humans. |
