This section presents an abstract of the study, Comparison of Three Different LCA Software Tools and Their Outcomes, by Auli Sipilä and Marion Tobler. There are differences between the three LCA programs. LCAiT and SimaPro are used only for life cycle analysis, while Umberto is used to mass flow calculations. It was easier to start using LCAiT than to start using SimaPro. But when data was fed in the software different kinds of analysis methods were available without any efforts with SimaPro whereas with LCAiT extra handwork or software package would have been needed. The basic view of Umberto was obtained through running a demo. LCAiT does not include any textile data, like fibres and their producing, and Sima Pro has only few. Also textile chemicals are poorly represented. |
