Abstrakt: The article discusses the concept of "solastalgia," a term coined by Glenn Albrecht to describe the distress felt when one's beloved home is under threat. It has been applied in literary studies to explore representations of climate grief in works from various cultures. The text focuses on late-nineteenth-century western regionalism, particularly narratives from communities displaced by U.S. imperialism and westward expansion, examining the affective registers of environmental dislocation. Authors Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins and María Amparo Ruiz de Burton are highlighted for their works that evoke solastalgic distress and offer hope for restoration and renewal.
