Abstrakt: A recent study from Nuremberg, Germany compared the outcomes of transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation (TMVI) and repeated mitral valve surgery (RMVS) for patients with prior bioprosthesis or ring implantation. The study found that both strategies had similar short-term outcomes, but patients in the TMVI group had a significantly lower survival rate after four years. The research was conducted by the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Klinikum Nurnberg-Paracelsus Medical University and published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
