Abstrakt: Simple to construct, and easy to do, pendulum laboratory activities (one classical and one counterintuitive), combined science and mathematics concepts to provide a good opportunity to practice literacy and STEAM skills. The STEAM pendulum project laboratory activity applies technology using Java code, integrates design thinking and uses computational thinking towards meaningful learning experiences. Built into the opportunities are post-lab discussion and reflection based on a series of higher-order thinking questions. The information provided in this article will assist educators in applying the classical and counterintuitive strategies with reference to STEAM literacy. Hopefully, a new awareness of the importance of the pendulum in the foundation and development of the processes of science and mathematics education, and its central positioning in the many facets of not only science, but also technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics literacy will emerge.
