A study conducted by researchers at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, focused on the characterization, crystal structure, and stability analysis of Dianhydrodulcitol polymorphs, specifically 1,2:5,6-Dianhydrogalactitol (DAG). The study identified two polymorphs of DAG and determined that form II is a metastable crystal form that can be transformed into the other two crystal forms by solvent-mediated crystallization. The research was funded by various organizations including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has been peer-reviewed.
