| Abstrakt: | A study conducted at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs focused on the social intelligence abilities of cadets in the security and defense sector who are studying in the specialities of 'Law' and 'Psychology'. The research found that cadets studying 'Psychology' exhibited a higher level of social intelligence compared to those studying 'Law', with differences attributed to specific abilities such as predicting consequences of behavior and understanding the logic of interaction situations. The study concluded that recent social conditions have not significantly impacted the development of social intelligence abilities among higher education students, presenting directions for further development in this area.
